MEEF is actively educating to sustain the planet

The Mfon Edet Educational Foundation (MEEF) actively carries out environmental sensitization campaigns in schools to help promote the culture of a clean and healthy environment, healthy living and creating an awareness about climate change and the impact on our environment. The benefits of environmental education can not be over emphasised and we are poised to reach out to as many schools as possible.

Education is the bedrock on which societal norms and values are formed, hence our resolve to be a leading advocacy group in Nigeria driven by the passion to bring to the fore, the importance of environmental educational awareness, which includes literacy, health, and environment, social and behavioural change among others. We have been in the frontline of promoting these ethical, intellectual and social values in our society. As part of effort to promote our activities, we collaborate/partner with private and public organizations where our ideas are illuminated and implemented. We are currently working extensively with the Akwa Ibom State Ministries of Environment to carry out several educational and enlightenment programmes that have resulted to a greater good to the beneficiaries (both the pupils and students of the participating schools).

Among the schools visited were University Staff School, University of Uyo, Qua Iboe Church Nursery and Primary School, Oku and University Arms Education Foundation, Ikpa Road. Highlight of the activities included presentation of environmental IEC materials and recycling waste bins to the schools
